An acrylic denture can be cleaned with a denture cleaner (polydent). Or the denture can be soaked in water overnight to clean.
A valplast denture can be cleaned with water to remove any debris. It should be by kept moist with a clean wet cotton to prevent shrinkage.
Sometimes if dentures are worn overnight irritation to the soft tissues can occur and this can cause ulcers. Also if you feel the dentures have some rough or sharp edges, these can cause ulcers too. Sometimes if the fit of the denture has changed it can cause ulcers too. You can come to see the dentist so he/she may provide the best treatment for the ulcers.
Wearing dentures overnight can cause irritation to the palate and soft tissues. This may lead to ulcers, white patches or redness. Therefore, it is advised not to use dentures to sleep.
