Dr. Ravindran Murugesan

Dr. Ravindran Murugesan is a Senior Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with over 42 years of clinical experience — 23 of which as a registered specialist. His career spans the full breadth of oral and maxillofacial surgery, from complex wisdom tooth extractions and facial bone fracture reconstruction to jaw realignment, cleft lip and palate correction, and dental implants.

Dr. Ravi began his career as a Dental Officer with the Ministry of Health Malaysia in November 1984, where he served for over 10 years before pursuing advanced specialist training. He obtained his Master of Clinical Dentistry in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Malaya between 1999 and 2003, and was subsequently awarded a surgical attachment scholarship for training in Dentofacial Deformity at SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad, India.

Qualifying as a Ministry of Health specialist in November 2003, Dr. Ravi was promoted to Consultant in April 2014 and Senior Consultant in August 2021 — a position he held until his retirement in November 2024. He now continues to serve patients as a Contract Consultant Surgeon at Pristine Dental Centre.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Ravi has performed more than 11,000 oral surgeries and managed over 9,700 facial fracture cases spanning midface, orbital, maxillary, and mandibular injuries. His surgical record also includes over 200 dental implant placements, 236 orthognathic (jaw) surgeries, and 203 cleft lip and palate procedures.
